I started watching America's top Model on Wed. nights. It was easy enough to do with Michael pretty much out of the house, and Collin would go hide in his room. :)

I have to say I really got to like Nicole, I liked Laura too. They were my favorite girls. I liked Nicole because a big part of me could relate to this shy young woman that had been teased by people for so much of her life. The first show when I saw the girls in the house treat her like dirt, make fun of her behind her back, and all say how she would be the first to go, and then she pulled off the win that night. Wow was all I could think. This girl who is quiet and shy, and very reserved, had an ability to work the camera better than most people.

From that show on I hoped she would win. If I'm not mistaken I think she won most of the weekly spots, so it makes sense that she would pull it off.

I like Laura too, for much the same reasons. She was out going, happy, sunny, and seemed to be a real joy to be around. She also had some incredible pictures. I think this was the first reality show that I had watched in a long time where I would have been happy with either outcome. It was a good call to have them both in the finals, and good job to both girls.

I thought I would give my first impression of each contestant tonight. All of this I jotted down before the judges comments, for the most part. Keep in mind I really don't know any of the songs that were sung except for one or two.

Anoop- I thought he was off key, if he wants to sing R+B it really doesn't work for me. I'm finding him rather boring.

Megan- I thought she was okay, a bit off key. I really like her voice and wish she would sing some Jazz and blues, if she put out a record that is the style I think suits her the best. I would like to her her falsetto more because I really love it when she puts it in her vocals. It seems to make her voice quaility pop.

Danny, I liked. Can't say more than that.

Allison was so, so for me. Hated the Outfit. My problem is I'm not into the rock music, but I do recognize that is what her voice is suited for. I really hear Blondie type music coming from her.

Scott, I like Scott but I feel like I'm listening to a wedding singer every week. Honestly it was not my favorite of the night and would have him in my bottom three picks for sure.

Matt- Off key at first. I like Megan the song was redundant in lyrics.

Lil- I like her, and thought the song was a sweet one for her showing her soft side.

Adam, no doubt about it that he is amazing. I don't care for Rock music so I would never buy one of his albums. I like the fact that he has changed his looks for the performances, he is much easier to look at, and he really doesn't need the funky style to show who and what he is.
I do like that he complimented the band on the arrangement, classy.

Kris, this was my favorite of the night. The same that Adam was my favorite last week. If he had an album full of that, I would by it.

My Husband sent this to me via email today. Thought you would all get a laugh!

One day I was watching my 2 1/2 year old daughter while my wife
was out shopping.

I was engrossed in the evening news when my daughter brought
me a 'cup of tea', which was just water, using a little play tea
set we gave her on her last birthday.

After giving her lots of praise for the 'yummy tea', and enjoying
drinking several cups, her mother came home.

I made my wife wait in the living room so she could watch our
daughter bringing tea because it was 'just the cutest thing!'
Sure enough, she brought another cup of tea for me and I

Each man gives a story
Three men were standing in line to get into heaven one day. Apparently it had been a pretty busy day, though, so Peter had to tell the first one, "Heaven's getting pretty close to full today, and I've been asked to admit only people who have had particularly horrible deaths. So what's your story?"

So the first man replies: "Well, for a while I've suspected my wife has been cheating on me, so today I came home early to try to catch her red-handed. As I came into my 25th floor apartment, I could tell something was wrong, but all my searching around didn't reveal where this other guy could have been hiding. Finally, I went out to the balcony, and sure enough, there was this man hanging off the railing, 25 floors above ground! By now I was really mad, so I started beating on him and kicking him, but wouldn't you know it, he wouldn't fall off. So finally I went back into my apartment and got a hammer and starting hammering on his fingers. Of course, he couldn't stand that for long, so he let go and fell -- but even after 25 stories, he fell into the bushes, stunned but okay. I couldn't stand it anymore, so I ran into the kitchen, grabbed the fridge and threw it over the edge where it landed on him, killing him instantly. But all the stress and anger got to me, and I had a heart attack and died there on the balcony."

"That sounds like a pretty bad day to me," said Peter, and let the man in.

The second man comes up and Peter explains to him about heaven being full, and again asks for his story.

"It's been a very strange day. You see, I live on the 26th floor of my apartment building, and every morning I do my exercises out on my balcony. Well, this morning I must have slipped or something, because I fell over the edge. But I got lucky, and caught the railing of the balcony on the floor below me. I knew I couldn't hang on for very long, when suddenly this man burst out onto the balcony. I thought for sure I was saved, when he started beating on me and kicking me. I held on the best I could until he ran into the apartment and grabbed a hammer and started pounding on my hands. Finally I just let go, but again I got lucky and fell into the bushes below, stunned but all right. Just when I was thinking I was going to be okay, this refrigerator comes falling out of the sky and crushes me instantly, and now I'm here."

Once again, Peter had to concede that that sounded like a pretty horrible death.

The third man came to the front of the line, and again Peter explained that heaven was full and asked for his story.

"Picture this," says the third man, "I'm hiding inside a refrigerator...

Just a quick note out there to anybody in Utah that reads this blog, and is considering buying a car within the State..... Stay away from National Auto Plaza located in sandy. They are liars, cheats, and just plain have CRAPPY customer service. They ensured that anybody that knows me will know NEVER to buy a car there. I personally wasn't the purchaser of the car, but I was along for the ride. They even treated me like garbage. They acted fine until after the car was purchased then they were absolutely unwilling to work with us. They have a seven day exchange policy, we took the car up to be fixed and the wouldn't be able to look at it for a couple of days leaving only 1 day to decide to exchange or not, depending on if they could fix the car, or if he just wanted to buy a cheaper car. They insulted my intelligence while looking at another car to exchange the purchased car with, telling me the car we were looking at was worth what they were asking for it when the car had clearly been in an accident and there was no repair work done to it. He had the nerve to ask me how long I had been driving a car, excuse me I'm not stupid I think I know what a car that has been in an accident looks like. I checked their website, and the price on this car is almost a 1000 dollars LESS than what the lowest they would be willing to go was, and that's the starting price! It was all about them "we, we, we... us, us, us" it was a far cry from being about the customer. Expecting the customer to bow down to their insider super high junk blue book costs, when ahem, the customer can as a consumer check blue book online and it's significantly lower. They say they have a 120 point inspection, yet most of the cars on the lot have 2 or more tires that won't pass safety, and all of the other cars we drove to look at exchanging the other car with had problems... inspection I don't think they even looked at them, maybe vaccuumed them out and washed the outside a bit then stuck a for sale sticker in the car. To top it off the financing guy said we had to have GAP insurance in order for the bank to set up the loan, blatant lie! Also that we would have Wells Fargo, at 9.99 or higher interest... but later found out the loan wasn't processed and they didn't know who would be financing the loan. Then to top it off after all the hubbub, they made us wait in the customer lounge for an hour and a half while they conveniently forgot they were supposed to be checking if they could get the car into the shop to look at it. With everything else we couldn't get anybody to tell us the owner's name, so that we could write him a letter. So Better Business will be hearing from us for sure!

My MIL sent this to me. I have no clue if it is true or not, but it is worth the laugh!

This incident actually happened at the testimony meeting in March.

Our primary president was visiting her sister's ward in Sandy, Utah.

A lady came up to the pulpit. She began by telling the congregation what a trying month she and her family had these past few weeks.

Her husband had been in a car accident and had bruised his scrotum.

She then continued on, very weepily, for the next ten minutes about how this injury has been affecting their family.

"He can't hold the children, he can't hug or cuddle, no intimacy, he'd been so weak, etc . " She finally sits down.

Then, to the already shocked and horrified congregation, the> husband stands and approaches the pulpit.

"I just have one word for my wife," he said,

"STERNUM." Then he sat down.>

Just in case you need a laugh: Remember it takes a college degree to

fly a plane, but only a high school diploma to fix one. Reassurance for

those of us who fly routinely in our jobs and those of you who fly

occasionally.

After every flight, Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe

sheet," which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The

mechanics correct the problems, document their repairs on the form, and

then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight.

Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are

some actual maintenance complaints submitted by Qantas' pilots (marked

with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance

engineers.

By the way, Qantas is the only major airline that has never, ever, had

an accident.

P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement.

Wild Fires

WILD FIRES
Things are not always what they seem.
A photographer from a well-known national magazine was assigned to
cover Southern California's wildfires. The magazine wanted pictures
of the heroic work the fire fighters were doing as they battled the
blazes.
When the photographer arrived on the scene he realized that the
smoke was so thick that it would seriously impede, or even make
impossible, his obtaining good photographs from ground-level.
He requested permission from his boss to rent a plane and take
photos from the air. His request was approved, and via a cell phone
call to the local county airport, necessary arrangements were made.
He was told a single-engine plane would be waiting for him at the
airport.
He arrived at the airfield and spotted a plane warming up outside a
hangar. He jumped in with his bag, slammed the door shut, and
shouted, "Let's go!"
The pilot taxied out, swung the plane into the wind, and roared down
the runway. Within just a minute or two of his arrival they were in
the air.
The photographer requested the pilot to, "Fly over the valley and
make two or three low passes so I can take some pictures of the
fires on the hillsides."
"Why?" asked the pilot.
"Because I'm a photographer for a national magazine," he responded,
"and I need to get some close-up shots."
The pilot was strangely silent for a moment; finally he stammered,
"So, you're telling me you're not the flight instructor?"

Those Born 1930-1979!
TO ALL THE KIDSWHO SURVIVED the1930's 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's !!
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank whiletheywere pregnant.(not me, mother mother didn't drink that is ;) )
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't gettested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in babycribscovered with bright colored lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets

and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitch hiking.

As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, boosterseats, seat belts or air bags.

Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank koolade made withsugar,
but we weren't overweight because WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING !

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the street lights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day.

And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride downthe hill,
only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running intothebushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's,
no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers,
no Internet or chatrooms..........WE HAD FRIENDS
and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth
and there were nolawsuits from these accidents

.We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt,
and the worms did not live in us forever.
We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays,
made up games with sticks and tennis balls and,
although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell,
or just walked in and talked to them!

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team.
Those whodidn'thad to learn to deal with disappointment.
Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of.
They actually sided with the law!

These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers,
problemsolvers and inventors ever!
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learnedHOW TODEAL WITH IT ALL!

If YOU are one of them . . . CONGRATULATIONS!
You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids,
before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of ourlivesfor our own good

.And while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were.

I decide to water my garden.

As I turn on the hose in the driveway,
I look over at my car and decide my car needs washing.

As I start toward the garage,
I notice that there is mail on theporch table that I brought up from the mailbox earlier.

I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.

I lay my car keys down on the table,
put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table,
and notice that the can is full.

So, I decide to put the bills back on the table
and take out the garbage first.

But then I think,
since I'm going to be near the mailbox when I take out the garbage anyway,
I may as well pay the bills first.

I take my checkbook off the table,
and see that there is only one check left.

My extra checks are in my desk in the study,
soI go inside the house to my desk
where I find the can of Coke that I had been drinking.

I'm going to look for my checks,
but first I need to push the Coke aside so that I don't accidentally knock it over.

I see that the Coke is getting warm,
and I decide I should put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.

As I head toward the kitchen with the Coke
a vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye--they need to be watered.

I set the Coke down on the counter,
and I discover my reading glasses that I've been searching for all morning.

I decide I better put them back on my desk,
but first I'm goingto water the flowers.

I set the glasses back down on the counter,
fill a container with water
and suddenly I spot the TV remote.

Someone left it on the kitchen table.

I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV,
I will be looking for the remote,
but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table,
so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs,
but first I'llwater the flowers.

I pour some water in the flowers, but quite a bit of it spills on the floor.

So, I set the remote back down on the table, get some towels and wipe up the spill.

Then I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do.
At the end of the day:
the car isn't washed

the bills aren't paid

there is a warm can of Coke sitting on thecounter

the flowers don't have enough water

there is still only one check in my check book

I can't find the remote

I can't find my glasses

I don't remember what I did with the car keys.

Then when I try to figure out why nothing got done today,

I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all day long, and I'm really tired.

I realize this is a serious problem,

and I'lltry to get some help for it,

but first I'll check my e-mail.

I was telling Ish and Brooke( a new co-worker.. actually the one I got the job of instead, but the company I work for is cool enough and growing enough that she is training to open her center somewhere else!) about 7th grade and reading the readers digest version of Jean ValJean meeting the Bishop at the beginning of the story (well what could be considered the beginning. the set up for the story is huge and with good reason!)

I didn't care if we only got a half an idea of the story, I didn't care that it belongs to a novel so thick you could kill someone with it, I KNEW I was going to read that book some day. Period. There was no way I could read just a tiny bit about the Bishop and what a good man he was and NOT read the outcome of his actions.

Tanya mentinoed being very excited for her newest Lynn Kurland novel. Since I found Lynn's books at a grocery store near me( I thought I had sworn off of romance!) she has been a new addiction for at least Tanya and myself.

I know that Cindy LOVE reading Danielle Steele or she used to.

Naming Children

Because of the slight excitement on the post about boys, I thought that something about how couples name children might be a fun topic.

Little Snobaybe had NO idea that there was always a kerfluffle whenever I tried to meet minds with my childrens father, and come up with a name.

So said number one child, my estimable Sean, who by the way is going to Ohio for his education as a pharmacist by the way, was due. And we STILL couldn't agree on a name, and my ex didn't agree what with all the 9 months of non-stop sickness, labor ect, that I should get the right to name the baby my choice over his. Harmpf...lol

Well about three hours before my water broke (always my first sign I am labor which is a good thing, because one contractions start, WATCH OUT!) he suggested Shaun,Shawn, Sean.( all listed here for everyone's favorite pick! OPkay, so I missed a few Irish variations, but the point is there!)

Well, the story I thought poor Snobaybe knew so she wouldn't assume I was yelling at her, was that I went to grade school with a Shawn and a Shaun. These young men were so GROSS! there is not other word for it. They would bring nude pictures and show them around at school, they would throw up on purpose and one of the two I am pretty sure had NEVER met a bathtub or shower in his life.

There was NO WAY, my child should it be a boy, would be a Shawn or a Shaun because of it. No insult intended to anyone that OWNS those particular spellings, okay? Lol. just my own NO! My ex then said "Well how about Sean, like in Sean Connery?" I thought for a minute, and then said. "Sold!" A compromise I can live with.

Anne Shirley of the Anne of Green Gables is right.. the spelling really does matter!

Things I've learned from my Boys (honest and notkidding):
1.) A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq. ft.house 4inches deep.
2.) If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them withrollerblades, they can ignite.
3.) A 3-year old Boy's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowdedrestaurant.
4.) If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is notstrongenough to rotate 42 pound Boy wearing Batmanunderwear and a Superman cape; It is strong enough, however, if tiedto apaint can, to spread paint on all four walls of a 20x20 ft. room.
5.) You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. Whenusing a ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the balla few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball alongway.
6.) The glass in windows (even double-pane) doesn't stop a baseballhit bya ceiling fan.
7.) When you hear the toilet flush and the words "uh oh", it's alreadytoolate.
8.) Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.
9.) A six-year old Boy can start a fire with a flint rock even thougha36-year old man says they can only do it in the movies.
10.) Certain Legos will pass through the digestive tract of a 4-yearoldBoy.
11.) Play dough and microwave should not be used in the samesentence.
12.) Super glue is forever.
13.) No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you stillcan'twalk on water
14.) Pool filters do not like Jell-O.
15.) VCR's do not eject "PB &J" sandwiches even though TV commercialsshowthey do.
16.) Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.
17.) Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving.
18.) You probably DO NOT want to know what that odor is.
19.) always look in the oven before you turn it on; plastic toys donotlike ovens.
20.) The fire department in Austin, TX has a 5-minute response time.
21.) The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earthwormsdizzy.
22.) It will, however, make cats dizzy.
23.) Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.

Just so you know I refrained from publishing a comment on that site, that seems to be up for bat for K., but if I had this is what I wanted to say, or at least a portion... I suppose I shouldn't let it bother me, but it really does that some people refuse to really "learn" anymore and do research and really attempt to become intelligent or understand why things work certain ways for certain people instead of bashing what they do not understand.

I am glad that you recognized the LC diet as a good option for those with these issues, but in a logical sense, why would it be ok for just those people and not others, or thereby be against the word of wisdom and wouldn't those with these issues still be expected to adhere to the word of wisdom? I would be interested in knowing why you feel that it would be against the word of wisdom, because IMHO I don't feel that it is. I'm thinking that maybe you should read up on the LC diet a little bit more, it's not truely about eating tons and tons of protein, but more or less not using CARBS to fill up on, which as I recall would be against the word of wisdom as well, because the word of wisdom is about balance and limits. It's more about balancing everything you eat. People tend to repeat for rote what the fda says is right, just because that's what they think works, (kinda like how the world used to be considered flat???)and not because they truely understand what goes on in your body from a physiological standpoint, I'm not attacking you directly, I just feel that society should be a bit more open minded and learn how to use their brains to really think and figure things out and do real research, and see things from ALL standpoints intellectually. I don't myself believe Atkins is a correct way to do things, it's too extreme, but there are others that are good... check out dr schawarzbein's book it might give you a better insight to why this actually works. And won't kill your body like your father assumes. Trust me... at one point I felt the same, but being a biology major forced me to look at it chemically and physiologically rather than just from an emotional standpoint, I guess my real point is people should find what works for themselves and not worry so much about what other people do to "diet", it's their life and they can do what they want, just accept them and love them, if it works great! If not oh well...

New job and adventure..

Hello everyone, Just an update in my little small world. I started a new position at my company. (don't want to name names incase stalker is lurking). But those that are important already know where I work.. ;-)

I am in the finance department, and customer service. This is a great opportunity for advancement and resume incase I move out of state in my future.. who knows.. but maybe.

Right now I am still recovering and healing from stuff... doing the best I can.
